God Shapes Us

One of the biggest birch trees ever was growing right next to the winding country road, with it’s branches stretching out and reaching towards the sky. Well, all of it’s branches but one were reaching towards the sky. I was puzzled as I gazed up at the branch, why was it shaped the way it was? Interesting, it began branching out from the tree, reaching for the sky, then it hooked in a funny way, almost in a right angle over the road. Hmm, I wondered. Then it came to me. The branch had been shaped by the continuous passing of big semi-trucks. As they passed beneath the tree, the branch had been shaped in a way that was obviously different than the other branches, much like the way God shapes us. In Job 10:8(a), we read, “Your hands shaped me and made me.” We are not the same as everyone else, God makes us different. Please join in praying for guidance as God continues to shape us.
